Skinny Teatox Review- All Natural Tea To Detox, Cleanse, And Energize

IMG_7367

I’ve seen these detox tea reviews pop up everyone on social media. So many people are talking about how great these teas are for detoxing, cleansing, energizing, and weight loss, so I decided to try it out for myself. The kind people at Skinny Teatox were so kind to send me a set to try out and review for you guys, so here is my honest and detailed review. Now I just want to say that my purpose of trying this tea out isn’t to lose weight, it was to cleanse and increase my energy levels. I, personally, don’t believe in any type of pill or tea to lose weight, but as you’ll see below, Skinny Teatox does promote effects that may aid in weight loss for some people.

What is Skinny Teatox? Skinny Teatox is a 100% natural detox tea program that promotes good health and to some people, weight loss. It is targeted to have the effect to:

  • Lose weight
  • burn calories
  • boost metabolism
  • cleanse
  • detoxify
  • suppress appetite
  • increase energy levels
All the ingredients in Skinny Teatox are natural, which means that unlike many other teas, there are no chemical preservatives. Ingredients include: tea leaves, senna leaf, ginseng, chrysanthemum, cinnamon bark, cloves, rhubarb, ginger, and more.
Skinny teatox comes in three kits, the 7 day set ($35), the 14 day set ($42), and the 28 day set ($60). I was sent the 7 day one.  It came with a morning tea and evening tea, each meant to have different effects. According to the pamphlet, “The morning tea is a stimulant and gives you a steady and constant supply of energy throughout the day. It also increases your metabolism and aids with appetite suppression. ” And the evening tea “cleanses and detoxifies your body. It’s a colon cleanse that flushes out your digestive tract of toxins and unwanted excess which could be making it more difficult for you to lose weight. ” There’s also a pamphlet that tells you the exact ingredients, procedure, recommendations, and more.

Morning tea
Evening tea

Procedure The week I started taking the tea was actually one of my busiest weeks since I was volunteering at my church camp. I’d wake up at around 7:20 am, boil the water, and seep a teaspoon of the tea leaves for about 2-3 minutes before transferring it into my glass bottle to go. Consider this as your morning wake-up, as it truly does wake you up and give you that boost of energy.

For the nighttime tea ( taken every other day) I would drink it before bed and seep the teabag in my mug for 2-3 minutes. It’s supposed to have a laxative effect for up to 10 hours, but I experienced no side effects. Not a surprise there. . .nothing ever seems to have an effect on me. I read that the evening tea was supposed to be the biggest factor in the detoxing and cleansing, which is actually really legit because I woke up 3 times during the night to pee. Guys, this is how you know a detox is happening. 😛
Taste I’m not a picky tea drinker, but for people that are, I don’t think you’ll have a problem with this tea. The morning tea is a blend of a bunch of things, giving it a minty and earthy scent and taste. I can’t really describe it, but I would say it’s like a fusion of a green tea and herbal tea. Looking through the leaves, I saw a few flower petals so that explains it. The nighttime tea may be a little strong though. It’s a dark orangy-brown color, and the aroma isn’t particular enticing. The taste isn’t exactly bitter, but there’s a sharp tinge to it that won’t make it that enjoyable to savor. I just drank it down in large gulps, but don’t worry- it’s not that bad, and you only have to do it every other day. The morning tea is definitely lighter and enjoyable though.

Comments and results So this teatox experience for me may not have gone as planned. First of all, after 7 days, I realized that I still had half of the packet left. Oops. This may have been because I didn’t have an exact measuring spoon, so I had just eyeballed a teaspoon. And paranoid of running out of tea before 7 days were up, I may have not put enough. After 7 days, I put more in and the tea definitely became more strong. Even though I wasn’t in this for weight loss, I weighed myself just out of curiosity. Nothing changed though, which wasn’t a surprise because this was the week that I was volunteering at a camp and the food there consisted of hotdogs, fried rice, and chips. I also got a cold, and so I didn’t exercise. I don’t know if this was caused by the tea or not, but during the 7 days I was drinking the tea, I developed a canker sore in the tissue connecting my lower lip to my lower gums. Guys. It was PAINFUL. I felt like my whole under lip was being split open, and I couldn’t eat anything. So considering that. . .maybe I should have lost weight, haha. It may have been due to me not putting enough of the tea leaves in, but my appetite didn’t get suppressed, and I was starving by lunch time. Again, this was not the ideal week to try this tea out because my hunger may have been due to running around with kids all week and taking photos. But after the 7 days were up and I started putting in more tea leaves, I did stop getting hunger craves during the mornings.

So overall, I feel like there’s never one set of results and effects for a teatox or any type of product that guarantees a certain result.. There are so many factors that can determine otherwise. It really depends on when you take it, what activities you’re doing, what kind of body type, etc. etc. Next time I try another teatox, I’ll definitely take it at a better time. For those of you guys who are struggling with weight loss, I would recommend this to you but only saying that the tea alone won’t do anything. Make sure you change your diet and be active, and the tea will just be there to wrap everything up.

You can buy the Skinny Teatox here.

Lots of love,
Keliee
