Orange Beach Photo Diary + Vlog

photodiary

If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter, you’ll know that I was at Orange Beach in Alabama for the weekend with my parents and friends from my Church. It was supposed to be a getaway from work and school, but you know the inner blogger in me never rests. Our condo overlooked the vast strip of beach, and I was up at the crack of dawn to snap pictures of the sunrise. And I’m also super excited, because this is the first time I actually have a video for you guys! I love videography and Youtube, and I got some footage and compiled it into a short vlog, which you’ll find at the end of this post. Tell me what you think!

We arrived 8:00 PM on Friday night at the Summerhouse condos, and our room was the cutest thing ever. Everything from the walls to the chairs were beach themed, with a balcony on all four sides offering a 360 degree view of the beach.

The bathroom had the BEST lighting ever, with four gigantic mirrors so you could see the front, side, and back of your head- perfect for hairdos.
Hello there ^_^

The bathroom lotions and soaps, of course, smelled amazing. And of course, I took them all home with me. 😛

These were placed on the table in the living room. Can you tell if they’re fake or not?

When you go on a trip with Cantonese Aunties, expect some pro congee making. 😀

Day 2- I woke up at 6 a.m to take photos and get some footage of the sunrise. By this point I’m spamming photos on Instagram- I find it so hard to build up my feed at home, but there are so many good shots on the beach for the white theme I’m going for. ( Shameless plug- I’m @itskeliee on Instagram ^^) I’m still in awe by the beauty I witnessed, and going through these pictures, I’ve realized that no fancy DSLR can ever capture the beauty of God’s creation. The sun hit the waters and the crashing waves look like they were gold.

The whitest sand ever
I was with three other boys, and when you take boys to the beach, they want to make gigantic sand forts. We ended up making something that resembled the Wall from Game of Thrones. Can you spot us?

After a big wave unfortunately wrecked havoc on our Wall ( winter sure came ), we went swimming in the ocean. We had little surf boards, and rode the big waves that shot us straight to the shore-probably the most fun I’ve had in a while. The weather was about 60-70 degrees, but the water was warm. I later texted one of my science geek friends, and he said something about sea breeze during the day and night and whatnot.

After frolicking in the ocean ( why was salty AF), we went into the pool ( which was cold AF, haha )

This little guy was just hanging out. No idea where he came from.

Our condo- we were on the 8th floor

After swimming, we went back, took super hot showers, and decided to watch a movie. In the halloween spirit, we chose the Exorcist ( because my best friend watched it last year and couldn’t finish it on account of it being too scary, so I was curious to see how scary it really was ) and watched the whole thing waiting for something scary to happen. Was sorely disappointed, and found the movie rather dull. I don’t know- someone tell me if they found the movie scary, and why?

Some more shots of the beach:

And that’s pretty much it for my weekend beach trip! I’m so glad I got a chance to go out and really experience a nice, relaxed, two day vacation. I’m back at home now and about to start studying for two tests I have tomorrow. 🙁 Writing this post, I’m also experiencing severe withdrawals. I really miss the condo and the big dinners with all the other families. Sigh. Sometimes I wish I had the power to stop time.
Here’s the vlog of my trip- it’s my first one, so any feedback will be greatly appreciated!

Lots of love,
Keliee
