20 Hair Hacks Every Girl Needs

Hiii! New Years goal #1 was to really get back into blogging, and since I just paid a whopping amount to renew my yearly domain and hosting haha, you bet I’m going to!

2017 is going to be the year of collabs! I love doing videos with other amazing creative people on the internet, which is why I’m so excited to bring you guys the very first collab of the year with Ali Goodwin from JustAli.

Hair hacks really changed my life when I discovered them, which I why we’re gonna bring 20 life changing hair hacks to you today in this blog post. Ready?

1. Bobby Pins

You may or may not have known, but most people use the jagged side up to secure their hair when using bobby pins! They’re actually meant to go the opposite way, with the jagged side face down and the straight side on top. This secures your hair in place more, adding extra strength.

2.Reverse Your Routine

If your hair washing routine is still leaving your hair dry even after conditioner, try reversing your routine! Start with conditioner, then rinse with shampoo.

3.Tame Frizz Instantly

Frizzy hair sucks, but a quick solution is to dab a bit of hand lotion on top of your hair. Don’t use too much though, as that will result in oily roots.

4.Heatless Overnight Curls

Put your damp hair into two french braids, and then go to sleep. Wake up with heatless curls!

5. Scented Hair

If you don’t like the smell of well, hair, spray some perfume onto your brush and run in through your hair. Then the strands will smell fresh and fruity.

6.Flat Iron Waves

I don’t know how to explain this…watch the video lol. πŸ˜›

7. Perky Ponytail

Slide two bobby pins under your ponytail for an instant lift!

8. Natural Curls

When you’re curling your hair with a curling iron, be sure to leave 1-2 inches of the ends straight. This results in natural looking curls that are more suitable for an effortless, everyday look.

9.Wavy Hair With A Flat Iron

To achieve beach waves or the Korean Mul Gyul waves, all you need is a flat iron. Run it outwards, inwards, outwards, inwards etc. for an effortless and easy look.

10. Drink More Water!

Water is seriously the magic potion to everything. Aim to drink 5-6 bottles a day for stronger and healthier hair.

11. Tame grease!

If you’ve run out of dry shampoo and need to fix that greasy hurr, then aloe vera works the same way! Distribute some into your hair, and whala!

Lots of love,

I read different opinions about reversing shampooing routine. Some say it’s great; some disagree with it. I know they are having shampoos and conditioners formulated specifically for reserved routine now. Will it be better to use those if I want to condition before shampoo? or any shampoo and conditioner will work?

I’ve definitely read both sides of the debate too, and honestly I’m not a hair expert and can only tell you what I know from my personal experience. I think the safest way would be to go with the special formulated reverse shampoos and conditioners if you’re not sure, but I’d test out just using your own and reversing it first! For me, it works fine and I don’t see a need to go purchase a special one, but first test it out with your own products. There’s no harm. πŸ™‚
